Danish VELUX is one of the winners in the world’s most renowned design competition, Red Dot.
They won with their latest product in the range of VELUX Modular Skylights, the Step Solution.
The Product Design Competition
In 2020, designers and companies from 60 countries entered more than 6 500 products in the competition.
"With their designs, the award winners are setting new standards in their industry. I wish to congratulate them most sincerely on their success," said Professor Dr. Peter Zec, founder and CEO of Red Dot.
"We are of course truly honoured to receive this seal of quality for outstanding product design," said David Briggs, CEO, VELUX Group.
"With the Red Dot Label, we can raise the awareness about the quality of our products, in this case, the VELUX Modular Skylight Step Solution, and associate our brand with good product design," Briggs added.
Multiple Rows of Skylight
The new VELUX Step Solution has a unique step structure, as indicated in the product name.
Multiple rows of skylight modules can be connected above each other to create a large glass roof. It is characterised by a minimalistic design with an elegant structure that allows for thin supporting beams.
"We designed the VELUX Step Solution to offer our customers a solution with maximum daylight for larger glazed areas. We have thereby expanded our product range from modules installed side by side to this unique step structure," explained global R&D Director, VELUX Commercial, Erik Kjærgaard.
The new VELUX Step Solution is technologically advanced and is aimed to be used for commercial and public buildings, both new build and refurbishment.
