Erik Hjelmstedt takes on the role of the new Sweden manager for the digital healthcare company Kry.
Hjelmstedt has been part of Kry's management team for the past two years as the company's operational manager, COO.
Erik Hjelmstedt will continue to drive Kry's development and expansion in the Swedish and Nordic markets, according to a press release from the company.
"I look forward to taking the company into the next phase and working with utmost speed to make care available so that more citizens in Sweden receive care when they need it," says Erik Hjelmstedt.
Erik Hjelmstedt most recently came from the media group Schibsted, where he held a number of leading positions including chief financial officer and chief operating officer.
He has also chaired and served on the board of a number of Schibsted's companies, such as Svenska Dagbladet, Finn.se, Aftonbladet and Blocket.
Prior to that, he has headed companies such as Gamestop, Razorfish and Shell.
KRY announced on the 7th of January 2020 that they had raised €140 million to help the business accelerate its ambitious growth plans in Europe.
It has only been a year and a half since the company last took in external financing, but the money is needed. In 2018 alone, their losses totalled €23.7 million.
