From tech festivals to tech summits, Copenhagen is booming with an array of tech and startup related events in the month of September.
From the 5th to the 7th of September, the Tech Festival of Copenhagen took place. The festival occupied different locations around the city with the main part being held in the Copenhagen Meat District.
The Tech Festival is known for being discussion heavy and this year the festival was once again driving up discussions around the impact of technology on our society and the human race.
The Investor Series
On Thursday the 5th of September, the third version of The Investor Series was held in collaboration with The Danish Chamber of Commerce, Deloitte, Danske Bank, and several other sponsors.
The main element of the day was the matchmaking between Venture Capitalists (VCs) and Nordic startups. Coordinator of the event and CEO of Tame, Jasenko Hadzic told ISB: “The purpose of these events is to make investments happen. And our goal by the end of the year is to help facilitate 150 million Euro”.
Each startup would have individual 1-on-1 rounds with selected VCs, to pitch their startup. More than 70 startups and VCs signed up to participate in the event.
Later this month, TechBBQ takes place. A summit which, just like Tech Festival, also hosts great keynote speakers, but with a different approach overall. TechBBQ runs from the 18th – 19th of September.
At this summit, there is usually a colourful and playful approach. Startups and organisations have stands showcasing their products and services.
The first TechBBQ in 2012 was attended by 135 self-professed "techies". Year after year, the number of attendees has increased and last year almost 6000 people gathered for the tech summit.
